After wearing blazers and low-rise skinny jeans for what seems like an eternity, I felt like I was finally ready for a new uniform. While playing around with a few different jean styles I very quickly realized, nothing feels quite as right as a tucked in boxy tee and mid-rise skinnys! So good with pretty much any shoe style imaginable, from boots to stilettos, I also love the fact that you can easily dress this combo up or down. My love for not so basic basics continues. Currently, I am on a high-waisted skinny jeans high, because, well... because they pair so beautifully with anything from crop tops to tucked in lose-fitting soft tees . I am so addicted, I've been buying them in every color imaginable, but the black pair I am sporting in this post is my favorite by far. Today, I paired them with another favorite, i.e. the super soft hi-lo v-neck tunic. As I have mentioned before, basic is not in my DNA. And so I always look for something a little more special and what makes this tunic special is that exaggerated deep-v front. Lately, I've been paring it with caged bralette tops in either white or black. Love how casually sexy it looks as it slides off the shoulder to reveal a bit of the bralette strap. Of all the SS15 trends, I think 70s-inspired looks are my favorite by far! I am literally obsessed with everything about this trend from high-waisted flare jeans and platforms, to round oversized aviators and suede fringe:)  My favorite way of wearing this trend is to take key 70s-inspired pieces and add a few modern touches and tweaks. Take today's look for example, to make this outfit a bit more modern, I paired my EXPRESS   flare jeans with a cute tie front blouse . Yet instead of going for 70s-inspired accessories , I kept this look clean and polished by adding a black leather bag and strappy heels. Of course, I couldn't resist adding a pair of oversized round sunglasses to the mix, but I honestly feel they enhance this look since the rest of my accessories are so clean and simple.  What about you guys? As far as current obsessions go, we recently covered my full-blown addiction to hats. I am still working on getting hats out of my system, as you can see, but I did manage to go out without a hat a few times this  week, so I guess we have progress:)  In other news, I've officially abandoned all pretense that it's not Summer in LA ( acceptance settled in somewhere around 90 degrees ), and switched to my Summer wardrobe. This of course got me thinking I should probably mention a few of my Summer obsessions/addictions/must-haves, starting with t-shirts!  T-SHIRTS: Love them, can't live without them, wear them obsessively. Of all my Summer favorites ( and there are quite a few, believe me) t-shirts are the one thing I can never get enough of. What makes a t-shirt great in my opinion?
