Up until recently, I could not have imagined a day when going out was no longer about highest heels possible, and yet, this day has arrived. Flats have officially became my footwear of choice!  I suppose this sudden change of heart is in large due to this Summer's soaring temperatures. Don't know about you guys, but comfort is pretty much my one and only concern in 100-degree weather! Or at least being as comfortable as I can possibly be:)  Yet, what may have started as a simple nod to practicality, with time turned into a complete and utter commitment to the way flats complete outfits in a very free-spirited, nonchalant kind of way. And sure, I am a little late to the "I LOVE FLATS" party! After spending the day sailing in San Diego recently, I realized two things. First, sail boat and I were made for each other and I could sail all day every day. In fact, I should probably make a sail boat my permanent home and wake up every morning to the sounds of waves and the smell of the ocean... Realistic? Probably not, but a girl can dream:)! Second, it is very difficult to achieve any degree of gracefulness ( since full on gingham skirt & top combo evokes exactly such a feeling ) while your husband is singing "I'm on the boat..." from Saturday Night Live. Yeah! That's my boy! Always serious:)! Despite his best efforts, we did manage to shoot a few presentable ones. So, I hope you enjoy:)!
